Veneers
A veneer is a thin layer bonded to the front of a tooth to change its color, shape or proportions. One or several teeth may be treated, depending on your oral health and the change you want.
When might an assessment help?
Suitability is determined at an individual examination. These signs alone are not a diagnosis.
Discolored teeth that do not respond to whitening
A tooth that is broken, worn or smaller than its neighbors
Small gaps between teeth
Interest in improving the shape and symmetry of your smile
Four stages, a clear plan
This is how treatment usually progresses. The stages, timing and cost are tailored after an individual examination.
Consultation
Preparation and scanning
Temporary veneers
Final bonding
Veneers to refine tooth shape
At consultation, we assess whether veneers are appropriate or whether whitening, orthodontic treatment or another restoration could achieve your goal. Ceramic veneers may require removal of tooth structure. The extent and implications are discussed before deciding. Direct composite veneers are another option.

Questions
worth
asking
How many visits are needed?
Ceramic veneer treatment commonly involves around three visits: consultation, preparation and scanning, then final bonding.
How do ceramic and direct composite veneers differ?
Ceramic veneers are made in a laboratory and generally retain their surface finish well. Direct composite veneers are built at the clinic, often in one visit, and usually cost less but may need more maintenance. Grinding, smoking and other habits influence the choice and longevity.
Will the veneers look natural?
Planning considers your face and smile, and the shade is chosen together. The aim is a carefully considered result that still feels like your smile.
Can my teeth return to how they were before veneers?
When preparation removes enamel, that change is irreversible. Understand how much tooth structure is expected to be removed and consider alternatives such as orthodontic treatment or whitening. Veneers may need repair or replacement later, and cleaning and examinations remain essential. Read more from the American Dental Association.
